Internet vs Computer Network

Every Internet is a network, but not every network is the Internet.


1. What is a Network?

A network is a group of two or more devices connected together so they can communicate and share resources.

These devices can be:

  • Computers
  • Smartphones
  • Printers
  • Servers
  • Routers
  • Smart TVs

A network can be small or large, depending on its purpose.


Real-World Analogy

Imagine your home.

Your family members live in the same house and can easily talk to each other.

This is like a network.

Everyone is connected within one place.


Example

Your home Wi-Fi connects:

  • Laptop
  • Smartphone

  • Printer

This is a Local Area Network (LAN).

Imagine every city has its own road system.

Each city's roads represent a network.

Now imagine highways connecting all those cities together.
